PURPOSE OF POSITION
To ensure that Dental Department patients receive appropriate care in an organized and timely manner.
SUMMARY OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. A four-year High School diploma or its educational equivalent, including or supplemented by successful completion of an accredited or approved Dental Assistant Program, which included or was supplemented by 600 hours of supervised internship experience assisting a dentist at chairside; or
2. A four-year High School diploma or its educational equivalent, including or supplemented by successful completion of an accredited or approved Dental Assistant Program, which included or was supplemented by 300 hours of supervised internship experience assisting a dentist at chairside; and 6 (six) months of satisfactory full-time experience as a Dental Assistant performing all of the following duties: taking and uploading dental digital imaging, assisting dentist at chairside, and preparing dental instruments for sterilization; or
3. A four-year High School diploma or its educational equivalent; and one (1) year of satisfactory full-time experience as a Dental Assistant performing the duties described in “2” above; or
4. A satisfactory combination of education and experience which is equivalent to “1”, “2”, or “3” above. Each 100 hours of supervised internship experience assisting a dentist at chairside is equivalent to two (2) months of full-time experience. However, all candidates must have at least a four-year High School diploma or its educational equivalent.
Experience as a receptionist or clerk in a dentist’s office is not acceptable towards meeting the qualification requirements.
QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE JOB:
KNOWLEDGEABLE IN:
Keyboard familiarity with the ability to type at a minimum of 100 keystrokes (20 words per minute).
