Overview

The Dental Center of Mishawaka is looking for a Dental Assistant in Mishawaka, Indiana to assist our clinical team by providing a high level of patient care and satisfaction while operating in a team-based environment.

Position Overview: As a Dental Assistant, you are an integral part of the care team, providing support to the office and assisting the professional dental staff with treatment. Support our mission to provide excellent dental care in the community and help us create more smiles and memorable experiences. Type: Full-Time

Schedule: Monday-Thursday 8:00am - 5:00pm

Responsibilities
  • Clinical Support: Prepare treatment rooms, sterilize instruments, and assist dentists during procedures.
  • Patient Care: Welcome, comfort, and educate patients on oral hygiene and post-treatment care.
  • Radiography & Diagnostics: Take and develop X-rays, assist with impressions, and maintain study models.
  • Compliance & Safety: Ensure infection control protocols, maintain patient confidentiality, and follow workplace regulations.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and documentation, including scheduling and patient intake (if needed).
  • Help dentist manage dental and medical emergencies by maintaining CPR certification, emergency drug and oxygen supply, and emergency telephone directory.
Qualifications
  • Completion of a one-year certified dental assistant program or six months on-the-job experience (with supporting documentation).
  • Will consider a recent grad from a formal dental school program.
  • X-Ray certification is required.
  • Expanded Functions Dental Assistant - Preferred.
  • Nitrous Oxide certification is highly recommended.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.

Dental Assistants are also expected to maintain annual OSHA, HIPAA, CPR, and infection control training as required by law.
