Job summary

Scenic Rivers Health Services is seeking a Full-time Dental Assistant for our clinic in Cook, MN. You will support dental providers during procedures, assist with sterilization and lab work, and help with front desk duties as needed.

Schedule runs Monday–Thursday, 7:30am–5pm, with opportunities for growth and ongoing education. The position offers comprehensive benefits, including health insurance options with a health savings account, retirement plan, and paid time off.

Qualifications

• Team-centered approach and customer service orientation required.
• Experience with dental assisting workflows and electronic records is preferred.
• Familiarity with Epic Wisdom or similar dental EDR systems is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Record patient dental and medical histories in the EDR system.
• Prepare patients and assist dental providers during procedures and emergencies.
• Float between providers as needed to support the clinic.
• Apply sealants, fluorides, and other preventive agents.
• Operate X-ray machines for dental imaging.
• Pour, trim, and polish study casts.
• Educate patients on oral hygiene and care.
• Manage reception duties including scheduling, insurance verification, and patient reminders.

Description

Scenic Rivers Health Services is currently seeking a Full-time Dental Assistant to support our dental clinic in Cook, MN. This position will work closely with the dental providers to assist in procedures and perform certain oral treatments. Additional responsibilities will include floating between dental providers, sterilization and lab, and backup reception support. The schedule for this position is Monday – Thursday, 7:30am - 5pm.

Dental Assistant Responsibilities

• Record patient dental and medical histories as well as treatment information in patient records using the EDR system
• Prepare patients and assist dental providers during procedures and dental emergencies
• Float between providers as necessary
• Perform applications of sealants, fluorides, and other dental agents for the prevention of dental decay
• Operate X-ray machines
• Pour, trim, and polish study casts
• Provide patient education to assist with developing and maintaining good oral hygiene
• Sterilize and prepare dental equipment prior to patient appointments
• Support an efficient flow of the office by quickly adjusting to appropriate needs throughout the day between chairside assisting, sterilization, or reception.
• Perform reception duties including but not limited to: answering phones, scheduling appointments, registering patients, verifying insurance, calling patients to remind of appointments, calling patients on-call list to fill open appointment slots.

Dental Assistant Requirements
