Matthews Family Dentistry is seeking a Dental Assistant to support our hygienists and ensure a smooth patient experience in Matthews, NC. You will assist during procedures, prepare rooms, sterilize equipment, and take radiographs as part of a collaborative dental team.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of active dental assisting experience.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
• Positive attitude and team-oriented mindset.
• Experience supporting dental hygienists preferred.
• Knowledge of dental software and digital radiography is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist hygienist during patient care and periodontal procedures.
• Preparing treatment rooms before and after patient appointments.
• Sterilizing and maintaining dental instruments and equipment.
• Take dental radiographs (X-rays).
• Reviewing medical histories and updating patient records.
• Providing patient education on oral hygiene and preventive care.
• Maintaining inventory and stocking hygiene treatment rooms.
• Ensuring compliance with infection control and OSHA guidelines.
• Take impressions, scans, or intra oral photos.
• Schedule recall and follow up appointments.
• Confirm treatment plans and patient understanding.
