Job summary

Smiles of Longview is seeking a Dental Assistant to join our team in Longview, WA. We offer a supportive environment with modern, patient‑centered care and a homey feel as you help build lasting patient relationships.

Responsibilities include chairside assisting, radiographs, patient education, and administrative tasks. WA requirements include DANB, radiology certification, CPR/BLS, and proficiency with dental software.

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited dental assisting program required or preferred.
• DANB certification required for Washington State.
• Radiology certification is required.
• CPR/BLS certification is required.
• Knowledge of dental terminology, procedures and instruments.
• Proficiency with Open Dental or Dentrix software.

Responsibilities

• Prepare operatories for treatment and sterilize instruments.
• Directly assist dentist during procedures using four handed dentistry.
• Take x-rays and intraoral photos.
• Support treatment planning based on doctor’s diagnosis.
• Educate patients and provide post-operative instructions.
• Document dental charts and coding accurately.
• Perform lab duties such as pouring models, impressions and temporary crowns.
• Handle phones, labs, and patient follow-up calls.
• Stock supplies and maintain equipment.
• Document and maintain patient health information.

Job description

We are looking for a Dental Assistant to join our team at Smiles of Longview! We’re committed to providing modern, conservative care to all our patients, while making them feel like they’re right at home. Our team makes our patients feel confident in their smiles while creating lasting, meaningful relationships along the way.

Schedule:

Mon-Wed 8:30-5:00, Thurs 7:30-4:00, Fri 7:30-1:00

Compensation:

$25-$30/hour

Job responsibilities/duties:

• Preparing operatories for treatment
• Sterilizing instruments
• Directly assist dentist during procedures using four handed dentistry technique
• Take x-rays and intraoral photos
• Accurately and efficiently treatment plan based on doctor’s diagnosis
• Providing patient education and post-operative instruction
• Dental charting and coding
• Perform lab duties such as pouring models, taking impressions, and fabricating temporary crowns
• Administrative tasks such as answering phones, calling labs, and patient follow-up calls
• Stock supplies and maintain equipment
• Accurately document and maintain Patient Health Information

Qualifications:

• CPR/BLS certification required
• Completion of an accredited dental assisting program preferred
• DANB (Dental Assisting National Board) Certification required for Washington State
• Radiology Certification required
• Knowledge of dental terminology, procedures, and instruments
• Proficiency in dental patient management software such as Open Dental or Dentrix
