Job summary

Southwest Dental Care in Little Rock seeks an experienced, energetic Dental Assistant to join our team. We offer competitive pay, health benefits, PTO and 401k.

Hours: Full-Time, Monday-Thursday 8:00am - 5:00pm; Friday 8:00am - 12:00pm. Responsibilities include preparing patients, materials for crowns, taking x-rays, sterilizing instruments, assisting the dentist in 4-handed dentistry, lab tasks, patient education, and keeping records and payments orderly.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of dental instruments and sterilization methods.
• Understanding of health & safety regulations in dental settings.
• Excellent communication and people skills.
• Well-organized and reliable, with attention to detail.
• High school diploma required; completion of dental assistant school preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for treatments or checkups and ensure comfort.
• Prepare materials for crowns or dental impressions.
• Select and set up instruments, equipment and materials.
• Take x-rays and display results for the dentist.
• Sterilize instruments according to regulations.
• Assist the dentist through 4-handed dentistry.
• Undertake lab tasks as instructed.
• Provide oral hygiene and post-operative care instructions.
• Keep the dental room clean and well-stocked; schedule appointments.
• Maintain accurate patient records and assist with payment procedures.

• Prepare customers for treatments or checkups ensuring their comfort
• Prepare materials for crowns or dental impressions
• Select and set up instruments, equipment and material needed
• Take x-rays of patients’ teeth when necessary and display results for the dentist
• Sterilize instruments according to regulations
• Assist the dentist through 4-handed dentistry
• Undertake lab tasks as instructed
• Provide oral hygiene and post-operative care instructions
• Keep the dental room clean and well-stocked
• Schedule appointments
• Maintain accurate patient recordsand assist with payment procedures

Requirements:

• Knowledge of dental instruments and sterilization methods
• Understanding of health & safety regulations
• Ability to perform regulated non-surgical tasks like coronal polishing is a plus
• Excellent communication and people skills
• Well-organized and reliable
• High school diploma; graduating from dental assistant school is preferred
