Position Details

Position Summary

This role involves working under close supervision of the Dentist and Dental Hygienist, performing chair-side assistance, handling instruments, and ensuring patient comfort and safety.

Primary Responsibilities

• Escort patients to operatories and prepare dental units.
• Perform chair-side assistance, handle instruments, mix materials, and chart procedures.
• Adhere to privacy laws and maintain a clean, sterilized work environment.
• Update patient charts, record procedures, and prepare for subsequent visits.
• Follow the MACT Health Board, Inc. Code of Conduct and relate well with patients and staff.

Minimum Qualifications

• Knowledge of dental clinic logistics, instruments, and terminology.
• Skill in taking and developing dental X-rays.
• Understanding of dental materials, safety regulations, and record-keeping.
• Ability to guide and coordinate with reception staff and inventory supplies.
• Experience with sterilization, autoclave testing, and dental procedures.

Mandatory Requirements

• Pass Occupational Health Screening.
• Possess valid identification as per U.S. Department of Justice I-9 form.

Physical and Cultural Requirements

This position requires long periods of standing and bending. An understanding of American Indian traditions and the ability to interact tactfully with Indian health organizations are essential.
