Job Purpose

To assist the dentist effectively and efficiently in providing dental care to patients, and to promote Familia Dental’s culture, mission, and values.

Responsibilities
  1. Welcome and escort patients professionally and friendly from reception to treatment areas.
  2. Ensure treatment rooms are equipped, stocked, and re-stocked as needed.
  3. Take and record patient medical and dental histories, vital signs, blood pressure, and pulse.
  4. Document all dental procedures per instructions and legal requirements.
  5. Take and develop dental diagnostic x-rays.
  6. Pour and base diagnostic models and fabricate temporary restorations, as permitted by law.
  7. Sterilize and disinfect instruments, set up trays, prepare materials, and assist during procedures.
  8. Provide dental education to patients on oral health and hygiene.
  9. Report equipment issues or safety concerns to the Office Manager.
  10. Participate in team meetings and huddles.
  11. Be sensitive to patients’ emotions and needs.
  12. Follow company policies, procedures, and legal requirements.
  13. Perform other tasks as assigned.
Requirements
Qualifications/Skill Sets
  1. Exceptional customer service skills.
  2. Excellent communication and listening skills.
  3. Basic computer skills; experience with dental management software (Denticon preferred).
  4. Ability to work in a fast-paced, patient-focused environment.
  5. Detail-oriented and organized.
  6. Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
  7. Meet state requirements for DA duties, including continuing education, BLS, CPR, and radiography certification.
  8. Dental assisting experience is preferred but not required.
  9. Healthcare or related field experience is a plus.

Availability / Schedule

Working hours: M-F 7:30am-7:30pm, Saturday 8:30am-5pm. Full-time, 30-40 hours/week. Availability for Saturdays and flexible shifts, including 8-10 hour shifts or short 3-day work weeks.
