Responsibilities

• Assist the dentist in the clinical treatment of patients.
• Set up treatment rooms for procedures.
• Greet and escort patients to the treatment room.
• Make patients comfortable and ensure they are attended to.
• Obtain and review health histories per office protocol.
• Anticipate and assist dentist's needs.
• Perform RDA functions and other tasks as assigned by the dentist.
• Record proper treatment notes in patient charts.
• Keep operatories ready, stocked and clean per OSHA.
• Sterilize instruments and handpieces per OSHA.
• Promptly send out and monitor dental laboratory cases.
• Monitor inventory and order supplies as needed.
• Assist in other office areas as necessary (phones, scheduling, benefits verification).

We are seeking a full time Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) to support our office Monday thru Friday. The ideal candidate should be reliable, have a positive attitude, posses good communication skills and enjoy working as a team in order to ensure the office and provider's day runs smoothly.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Responsible for assisting the dentist in the clinical treatment of patients
• Set up treatment rooms for procedures
• Great and escort patients to treatment room
• Show care and concern, help patients feel comfortable and ensure patients are always attended to
• Obtain and review health histories according to office protocol
• Anticipate and assist dentist's needs
• Perform RDA functions and other tasks as assigned by the dentist
• Ensure proper treatment notes are recorded in patient's chart
• Keep operatories ready, stocked and clean according to OSHA regulations
• Sterilize all instruments and handpieces according to OSHA regulations
• Promptly send out and monitor all dental laboratory cases
• Monitor inventory and order dental office supplies as needed
• Help in other areas of the office when necessary (i.e., answering phones, scheduling patients, verifying dental benefits, etc.)

PERSONNEL REQUIREMENTS

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Graduate of accredited dental assisting program or dental assisting experience preferred
• Compliance with state dental practice requirements (e.g., x-ray requirements, OSHA training)
• Computer skills-Dentrix is a Plus
• Good interpersonal skills to maintain effective rapport with patients, dentists, and other staff members
• Effective verbal skills to communicate with patients and staff
