Job summary

Erie Family Health Center is seeking a Dental Assistant to support the Oral Health team. You will prepare patients and materials, sterilize instruments, and help manage patient records and follow-up visits using Dentrix software.

Responsibilities include taking x-rays, maintaining equipment, and collaborating with dentists and staff to deliver high quality, affordable care to diverse patients in the Evanston/Chicago area. CPR certification is required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; dental assistant certification preferred.
• CPR certification required; bilingual skills are a plus.
• Proficiency with Dentrix and general dental terminology desired.

Responsibilities

• Assists with patient treatment under dentist supervision according to state guidelines.
• Prepares patients, sets up instrument trays, and prepares materials.
• Maintains instruments, trays, and clinic cleanliness including sterilization.
• Gets x-rays into patient records and schedules follow-up visits.
• Other duties as assigned by the oral health team.
