Maple Shade Dental of Peoria in Dunlap, IL is seeking a Dental Assistant to support the clinical team with high-quality patient care in a collaborative setting.

The role requires at least one year of on-the-job experience; radiology certification is preferred. You will prepare treatment rooms, sterilize instruments, take X-rays, educate patients, and help with emergencies.

Qualifications

• One year or more on-the-job-experience (with supporting documentation).
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Radiology certification, preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Detail-oriented with a commitment to patient care and comfort.
• Dental Assistants are also expected to maintain annual OSHA, HIPAA, CPR, and infection control training as required by law.

Responsibilities

• Clinical Support: Prepare treatment rooms, sterilize instruments, and assist dentists during procedures.
• Patient Care: Welcome, comfort, and educate patients on oral hygiene and post-treatment care.
• Radiography & Diagnostics: Take and develop X-rays, assist with impressions, and maintain study models.
• Compliance & Safety: Ensure infection control protocols, maintain patient confidentiality, and follow workplace regulations.
• Maintain accurate patient records and documentation, including scheduling and patient intake (if needed).
• Helps dentist manage dental and medical emergencies by maintaining CPR certification, emergency drug and oxygen supply, and emergency telephone directory.

As a Dental Assistant you are an integral part of care team in providing support to the office and assisting the professional dental staff with treatment.
