Job Summary

This full-time position involves assisting dentists and dental hygienists in providing primary care dental services. Responsibilities include sterilization, preparation, and inventory control of dental instruments and supplies.

Work Schedule

The position is 38 hours per week, with possible unscheduled overtime and flexible scheduling to accommodate the client population. May require work at any CCAP location.

Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Completion of an accredited dental assisting course (preferred)
  • Certified Dental Assistant (preferred)
  • Current CPR (BLS)
  • X-Ray certification (preferred)
Key Responsibilities
  • Assist patients and answer questions.
  • Serve as chair-side assistant.
  • Prepare operatory for treatment.
  • Expose and develop radiographs.
  • Perform delegated procedures.
  • Maintain equipment and supplies.
  • Ensure infection control and safety protocols.
  • Maintain patient records and assist with administrative tasks.
  • Ensure sterility and proper disposal of materials.
  • Participate in health promotion activities.
  • Travel as needed.
  • Perform other tasks as directed.

  • Knowledge of dental assisting techniques and materials.
  • Empathetic and professional communication skills.
  • Ability to work with diverse populations.
  • Collaborative working skills with healthcare professionals.
Physical Demands

Prolonged standing or sitting, manual dexterity, and visual acuity are required. Work may involve exposure to communicable diseases and other hazards.
