Job summary

Salud Family Health Center in Colorado is seeking a Dental Assistant to support the Dental Director and team in patient care, reception, and records. You will prepare treatment rooms, assist chairside, manage inventory, and ensure timely X-ray capture.

The role offers a Monday–Friday 8am–5pm schedule with a comprehensive benefits package including medical, vision, pension, vacation, holidays, and retirement plans. Prior radiology certification and BLS are required.

Qualifications

• Graduation from high school or equivalent is required.
• Must be radiology certified through a state-approved radiology program within the timeframe.
• Successful completion of Salud Ladder program required.
• Registered Dental Assistant Program certification required.
• Maintain current Basic Life Support (BLS) for healthcare providers.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Dental Director, Dentists and Dental Hygienists in patient care.
• Perform reception duties, chairside assisting, inventory and records.
• Prepare treatment rooms, manage schedules and liaise with patients.
• Support billing and administrative tasks as needed.
• Take diagnostic digital X-rays in a timely fashion.

Job Description

Performs those duties that assist the Dental Director, Dentists, and Dental Hygienists in the care and treatment of patients. Performs duties in the field of reception, chairside assisting, inventory, and records.

For example, you prepare the treatment room; you maintain the schedule and ensure the team is sticking to it; you interact with patients before, during, and after procedures; and you assist the dentist chairside. And these are just some of the many duties on your plate.

Qualifications

Experience:

Education:

• Graduation from high school or equivalent is required

Licensure/Certification:

• No licensure or certification is needed to be hired
• Must be radiology certified through a state-approved radiology program, within the timeframe set by Dental Department standards
• Successful completion of Salud Family Health Center Ladder’s program is required
• Successful achievement of the Registered Dental Assistant Program certification is required

Maintain current Basic Life Support (BLS) for healthcare providers from one of the following organizations:

• American Heart Association; American Safety and Health Institute; or American Red Cross

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• May be required to travel to other clinics based on staffing shortages
• An ability and willingness to learn
• A desire to expand abilities
• Ability to follow oral and written instructions
• Ability to motivate patients
• Must work well with the other patient care team members
• Ability to operate, maintain, and document in the electronic record
• Ability to reliably take diagnostic digital X-rays in a timely fashion
