Job summary

Rodeo Dental & Orthodontics is hiring a dental support professional to join our multi-specialty practice. You will focus on patient safety, assist with procedures, manage patient records, and educate families about oral health.

Responsibilities include maintaining clean operatories, charting treatments, and supporting the team across locations. The role requires CPR/ACET training, certification for nitrous oxide, and flexibility to travel between sites as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Active CPR and AED training.
• Current certification to monitor Nitrous Oxide.
• OSHA, HIPAA and Infection Control training required/maintained.
• Dental software experience helpful (Open Dental/Dentrix).
• Sealant/Coronal Polishing/PALS certifications are a plus.
• Spanish bilingual preferred.
• 10–15% travel may be required.
• Active driver's license for travel between sites.

Responsibilities

• Prioritize patient safety and team safety.
• Adhere to OSHA and Infection Control protocols.
• Maintain digital patient records (health history, eligibility, plans, authorizations, labs, visits).
• Educate patients and parents on oral health benefits.
• Monitor patient well-being during visits.
• Prepare tray setups per doctor preferences.
• Keep exam rooms clean, disinfected, stocked, and organized.
• Chart treatments (fillings, crowns, sealants) in patient charts.
• Review charts and health history before doctor arrives.
• Take diagnostic X-rays and attach to charts.
• Assist Rodeo Team with cleaning and sanitizing areas.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Active CPR and AED training
• Current certification to monitor Nitrous Oxide
• Maintain annual OSHA, HIPAA and Infection Control training
• Dental practice management software (Open Dental/Dentrix) experience helpful
• Sealant, Coronal Polishing, or PALS Certifications are all a huge plus!
• Bilingual (Spanish) is preferred
• Ability to travel 10-15% of the time
• This position may require the employee to use his/her personal vehicle to travel to different work sites during the course of the work day, which means you would need an active, valid Driver's License.
• Compensation Range: $20-$24 per hour.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Focusing on Patient Safety and Team Safety as priority one
• Adhering to OSHA and Infection Control Protocols, and disposing of sharps and clinical waste in a prompt and safe manner
• Maintaining digital patient artifacts such as health history, insurance eligibility, treatment plans, pre-authorizations, lab requests, procedures, and appointment details
• Educating patients and parents on the benefits of good oral health
• Monitoring the patient's physical and emotional well-being during the entire visit
• Preparing tray set-ups according to doctor preferences and planned procedures
• Ensuring that exam rooms and operatories are cleaned, disinfected, organized, and stocked according to the required standards at the beginning and end of each patient interaction
• Charting existing treatment for new patients by updating the patient chart with entries for fillings, crowns, sealants, etc.
• Reviewing the patient chart and health history prior to the doctor arrival and reconfirming the patient's chief concern
• Taking diagnostic quality X-Rays and attaching them to the patient chart
• Helping the Rodeo Team clean surfaces, sinks, floors and common areas of exam rooms, operatories, reception, break rooms, restrooms, etc.
• Performs all other duties as assigned
