Job description

Job Summary:

The Community Health Center of Lockport, located in Lockport, NY, is seeking a Dental Assistant to provide high-quality care to patients following federal, state, and local standards. The Dental Assistant will work closely with the Dentist, performing four-handed dentistry tasks, seating and dismissing patients, sterilizing instruments, taking radiographs, managing inventory, handling basic equipment maintenance, and performing various clerical duties. This role requires maintaining a professional and supportive attitude towards all patients and attending staff meetings.

Qualifications:

  1. High school diploma or equivalent
  2. Previous experience in a dental office
  3. Preferably hold a registered dental assistant certification

Responsibilities:

  1. Assist the dentist in various procedures using four-handed dentistry principles
  2. Seat and dismiss patients, maintain cleanliness in the operatory and dental laboratory
  3. Clean and sterilize dental instruments, develop radiographs
  4. Manage inventory of dental supplies, perform laboratory duties, and clerical tasks
  5. Utilize computerized systems for patient registration and other clerical procedures
  6. Perform basic equipment maintenance tasks, including changing suction machine filters

Salary:

  1. Registered Dental Assistant: $18.78 - $22.46 per hour
  2. Dental Assistant without certification: $17.78 - $21.46 per hour
