Job summary

Children’s Dental FunZone in Chino, CA is seeking an enthusiastic Dental Assistant to support a fast-growing pediatric practice in a fun, patient-centered environment. You will help dentists during procedures, manage radiographs, and assist with charting and patient education.

Qualifications include infection control and radiography certificates, experience as a Dental Assistant, and the ability to work Saturdays.

Qualifications

• Experience as a dental assistant or formal dental assisting schooling.
• Ability to take patient histories and monitor vitals.
• Familiarity with basic preventive pediatric dental care.

Responsibilities

• Assist dentist during a range of pediatric procedures.
• Maintain infection control and operate x-ray equipment.
• Take radiographs and manage patient medical history.
• Provide pre/post-op oral care instructions.
• Educate patients on brushing, flossing, and diet.
• Take impressions for study models.
• Enter treatment notes into Dentrix Ascend.
• Must work Saturdays.

Job Duties

• Assisting the dentist during a variety of treatment procedures.
• Infection Control & XRay certificates required.
• Taking and developing dental radiographs (x-rays).
• Asking about the patient's medical history and taking blood pressure and pulse.
• Providing patients with Pre/Post OP instructions for oral care following surgery or other dental treatment procedures, such as the placement of a restoration (filling).
• Teaching patients appropriate oral hygiene strategies to maintain oral health;(e.g., tooth brushing, flossing, and nutritional counseling).
• Taking impressions of patient's teeth for study casts (models of teeth).
• Taking needed pre-op/post-op x-rays for necessary insurance. Ex: XB, Space maintainer, etc.
• Chart/enter a treatment into Dentrix Ascend software.
• Must be able to work Saturdays

Job Type

• Full-time. Mon-Fri 8:00 am- 5:00 pm Some Saturday 8:00 am- 2:00 pm
• Hourly + Benefits+ Monthly Bonuses
• Pay rate $18.00- $23.00
