Job summary

Chicagofamilyhealth in South Chicago/Pullman, IL is seeking a skilled Dental Assistant to join our team and provide chairside assistance. You will chart the mouth, record medical/dental histories, and assist in four-handed dentistry under the dentist's directions.

The ideal candidate has a Dental Assistant Diploma, CPR certification, strong communication, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced dental clinic.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Dental Assistant Diploma is required.
  • CPR certification is required and maintained.
  • Knowledge of dental materials and equipment.
  • Coronal polishing and sealant application certificate.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains cleanliness of equipment in operations, lab, and sterilization room.
  • Sets up instrument trays, sterilizes instruments, and stocks operatories.
  • Removes oral debris using water, air, and vacuum devices.
  • Molds dental material as directed by the dentist.
  • Receives removable prosthesis for cleaning/repair.
  • Seats patients and prepares them for procedures.
  • Take patient vital signs—blood pressure and pulse.
  • Apply Pit and Fissure Sealants.
  • Performs coronal polishing to remove plaque and stains.

Job Title: Dental Assistant

Compensation (Based on experience and qualifications)

Location: South Chicago/Pullman

Schedule: Monday - Friday 9:00am - 5:00pm (Extended hours rotation of Noon - 8:00pm once per week) with a Saturday Rotation 8:00am - 1:00pm

We are seeking a skilled Dental Assistant to join our team and provide chairside assistance in response to the dentist's instructions in the delivery of dental care. The ideal candidate will be responsible for routine functions such as charting the mouth as directed by the dentist, recording medical and dental histories, and assisting in the delivery of four-handed dentistry.

Responsibilities
  • Maintains general cleanliness of equipment in operations, laboratory, and sterilization room.
  • Cleans and sets up instrument trays, sterilize instruments; prepare operatories, stock operatories with supplies.
  • Removes oral debris by water, compressed air, and vacuum devices.
  • Mixes dental material to be used by the dentist.
  • Receives removable prosthesis for cleaning and repair by the dentist or laboratory.
  • Seat patients, places protective garments, lubricates lips, and prepares patients.
  • Take patient vital signs – blood pressure and pulse.
  • Apply Pit and Fissure Sealants
  • Performs Coronal Polishing of teeth to remove plaque and stains.

Education and Experience
  • High School diploma or its equivalent.
  • Dental Assistant Diploma.
