Job summary

Management & Training Corporation (MTC) seeks a dental assistant at Otero County Processing Medical in Chaparral, NM. The role supports the dentist, prepares patients, sterilizes instruments, manages supplies, and maintains patient records with strict confidentiality.

The position requires a high school diploma or equivalent, 6 months of dental assistant experience or certification, CPR certification, and NM/TX driver’s license. CE credits and HIPAA compliance are also required.

Qualifications

• Current CPR certification.
• 30 hours continuing education per three-year renewal cycle.
• Valid driver’s license in NM or TX with acceptable driving record.

Responsibilities

• Assist the dentist in performing services by preparing patients in chair and handling required instruments, equipment, and dental plastics.
• Sterilize instruments and keep the office stocked with required supplies.
• Arrange and maintain appointment schedule.
• Keep records of patients and maintain confidentiality of all medical records (HIPAA).

Pay: $18.41 per hour

Schedule: Full-time, Monday - Friday, 6:00 am - 2:30 pm

Essential Functions

• Assist the dentist in performing services by preparing patients in chair and handling required instruments, equipment, and dental plastics.
• Sterilize instruments and keep the office stocked with required supplies.
• Arrange and maintain appointment schedule.
• Keep records of patients. Maintain absolute security and confidentiality of all medical records; observe applicable HIPPA rules.

Education And Experience Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Six (6) months clinical dental assistant experience, current certification, or registration as a dental assistant in the state of New Mexico or compact state, and current certification in dental radiological procedures.
• Must possess current CPR certification. 30 hours of continuing education are required during each triennial renewal cycle.
• Valid driver’s license in the state of New Mexico or Texas with an acceptable driving record required, unless waived by management.
