Job summary

Southmoor Pediatric Dentistry is expanding its team and is seeking a dedicated Dental Assistant to support our pediatric patients. You will prepare rooms, assist dentists, and help maintain a welcoming, child-friendly environment focused on outstanding care.

We provide training for growth, opportunities for advancement, and a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, and retirement plans. This is a Monday–Friday, on-site role with competitive pay and a supportive team.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Registered Dental Assistant with two years of experience preferred.
• Willingness to learn and grow in the dental field.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced team oriented environment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and organize dental treatment rooms and instruments prior to patient appointments.
• Assist dentists during various dental procedures by handing instruments, suctioning, and ensuring patient comfort.
• Perform sterilization and disinfection of dental tools and equipment following strict infection control protocols.
• Maintain accurate patient records using dental software such as Dentrix, including updating medical histories and treatment plans.
• Educate patients and their guardians on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care with empathy and clear communication.
• Manage appointment scheduling and coordinate patient flow to minimize wait times.
• Monitor and maintain inventory of dental supplies and materials, ensuring availability for daily operations.
• Adhere to body motion and ergonomics best practices to maintain personal health and safety during clinical tasks.
