Job summary

Marquee Dental Partners is seeking a Dental Assistant who will assist the dentist under the direction of the Operations Leader. You will set up rooms, prepare patients, take radiographs, and support patient education.

The role emphasizes delivering exceptional patient care and maintaining a safe, efficient practice environment. You’ll manage records, follow HIPAA/OSHA guidelines, and contribute to a positive patient experience.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• X-ray certification as defined by licensing authority.
• Dental Assisting license as defined by licensing authority.
• Adheres to HIPAA and OSHA safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Sets up/breaks down rooms and operatories to ensure a safe environment.
• Prepares patient for treatment, sterilizes instruments and dental furniture, sets up trays and prepares materials.
• Takes radiographs, x-rays, panoramic x-rays, digital scans and 3D images as prescribed.
• Provides post operative instructions to patients as needed.
• Instructs patient in oral hygiene when appropriate.
• Manages lab cases, maintains logs and prepares charts for patient safety and efficiency.
• Enters information into the practice management system under dentist guidance.
• Protects PHI and patient data following HIPAA and company standards.
• Delivers outstanding customer service and resolves patient questions.

Job description

The Dental Assistant has the skills, responsibilities, tasks and expectations to assist/support the dentist in delivering exceptional care to all patients under the guidance and support of the dentist and Operations Leader. The dental assistant contributes to the financial and non-financial success of the practice by ensuring that patients are the number one priority when they arrive at the practice. The dental assistant gains the trust of the patient within their licensure and/or training.

Working under the Direction of the dentist and Operations Leader, the tasks and responsibilities of a Dental Assistant include but are but not limited to:

• Sets up/breaks down rooms and operatories to ensure a safe environment for the patients and Dentists.
• Prepares patient for treatment, sterilizes instruments and dental furniture, sets up trays and prepares materials
• Takes quality / acceptable radiographs, x-rays, panoramic x-rays, digital scans and 3D images as prescribed by the dentist
• Provides post operative instructions to patients as needed
• Instructs patient in oral hygiene when appropriate
• Manages lab cases, keeps equipment maintenance logs up to date and prepares charts in advance for patient safety, office efficiency and the patient experience.
• Enters relevant / important information and keeps records into the practice management in support of / under the direction of the dentist
• Utilizes tools skills and talents to assist patients in making the best possible decision for their needs and helping them get healthier and happier.
• Has a "yes mentality" when helping patients.
• Makes a positive first impression with patients by phone or in person.

• Exhibit outstanding customer service with patient as priority; partnering with staff, timely and successfully resolve patient complaints, concerns and questions.
• Continually build and nurture a positive working relationship with the Operations Leader, doctor(s), hygiene and patient coordinator
• Strictly follow HIPAA and company standards to protect Patient Health Information (PHI) and patient personal and financial information including credit card, social security numbers etc.

Required

• High School diploma or equivalent
