About the Dental Program

The program focuses on providing dental services to children at Title 1 elementary schools and summer clinical sites across five Central Texas counties. The mobile dental vans are equipped with two exam rooms, digital x-rays, and computer workstations, operating five days a week to serve as many patients as possible.

Responsibilities

The Dental Assistant assists Dentists and Dental Hygienists in delivering dental care, ensuring high-quality service in a mobile setting.

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Registered Dental Assistant license in Texas.
• At least 6 months of chairside experience.
• Knowledge of dental equipment, materials, procedures, and charting.
• Passion for working with children and in public health.
• Clinical leadership skills.
• CPR, OSHA, Infection Control, and X-Ray certification.
• Reliable transportation to various work sites.
• Ability to work in small, tight spaces.
• Proficiency with dental software and computers.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bilingual in English and Spanish or other languages common in Central Texas.
• Experience as a Pediatric Dental Assistant.
• Experience in a mobile dental program.
• Sealant certification.

Physical Requirements

• Fine motor skills for handling dental instruments.
• Ability to walk between locations to maintain patient flow.
