Job summary

Swish Dental in Austin, TX is seeking a motivated Dental Assistant (RDA) to join our team. You will support the dentist across a range of procedures, take radiographs, prepare and sterilize instruments, and ensure patient comfort throughout visits.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma, a dental assisting certificate, CPR/BLS, and Texas RDA licensure after certification. Fluent in English, with knowledge of dental terminology, and able to travel to other locations if needed.

Qualifications

• Certificate from a dental assisting course required.
• Texas RDA license required after 1+ year of certification.
• CPR or BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Assist the dentist during a variety of treatment procedures.
• Perform dental radiographs (x-rays) and scans.
• Prepare and sterilize instruments, equipment, and patient rooms.
• Provide exceptional patient care throughout visits.
• Take impressions of patients' teeth.
• Communicate effectively with patients and staff.
• Maintain a team-first and patient-first mentality.
• Continue dentistry knowledge and job skills; adhere to standards.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

• Assist the dentist during a variety of treatment procedures
• Perform dental radiographs (x-rays) and scans
• Prepare and sterilize instruments, equipment, and patient rooms
• Provide exceptional patient care throughout their visit
• Take impressions of patients' teeth
• Communicate effectively and efficiently
• Maintain a "team first" and "patient first" mentality
• Continuously increase dentistry knowledge and job skills
• Adhere by State, Federal, and local compliance standards

Required Skills and Abilities

• Fluent in English; verbal and written
• Familiarity with dental terminology

Education & Experience

• Certificate of Completion from a Dental Assisting Course required
• Texas RDA License required after 1+ years of certification

Physical Demands and Work Environment

• This position may be required to sit or stand for long periods
• This position may be required to work more than 40 hours per week
• This position is in a clinical studio environment which can be noisy and distracting
• This position may be exposed to infectious diseases and/or blood borne pathogens
• This position may be required to handle sharp objects
• This position may be exposed to harmful chemicals and/or gasses
• This position may be required to communicate with others to exchange information
• This position may require repetitive motions that include the wrists, hands and/or fingers
