Our state-of-the-art dental practice is dedicated to providing exceptional patient care in a warm, professional environment. We are seeking a highly skilled and versatile Dental Assistant who is also willing to serve as a Front Office Patient Coordinator when needed. This dual role is perfect for an individual who thrives in a dynamic setting, combining clinical expertise with administrative excellence to create an outstanding patient experience.
$19 to $25 hourly, plus benefits
Responsibilities
Dental Assistant Duties:
- Assist the dentist chair-side during procedures, acting as their "third hand"
- Sterilize, organize, and prepare dental instruments and equipment
- Take digital X-rays (Maine radiology license required)
- Collect and record patient health histories
- Access and document patient dental records
- Create impressions of patients’ teeth
- Mix compounds for cleaning or filling teeth
- Use suction and swabs to keep patients’ mouths clear and dry
- Apply topical anesthetics as needed
Front Office Patient Coordinator Duties (training provided):
- Greet and schedule patients in person and over the phone
- Manage appointment scheduling and activities
- Take detailed phone messages and verify procedure completion
- Collect payments and verify/submit insurance claims
- Facilitate clear, friendly communication among patients, co-workers, and doctors
- Maintain records, send bills, answer phones, and order supplies
Qualifications
- Valid Maine radiology license (required)
- Dental Assistant certification or equivalent experience preferred
- Strong clinical knowledge and technical skills in dental assisting
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to multitask and adapt to both clinical and administrative roles
- Proficiency with dental software and general office systems (training provided as needed). Familiarity withEagleSoftsoftware would be a plus.
- Warm, professional demeanor with a patient-focused attitude
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
