Absolute Staffers LLC is currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Dental Assistant to join our healthcare team at the Federal Correctional Institution (FCI) Allenwood in Allenwood, PA. This is an excellent opportunity for medical professionals seeking a stable schedule and the chance to serve a unique population in a federal facility setting. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, professional, and committed to providing high-quality care

Primary Responsibilities

• Assists Dental Officer in dental specialty sections: restorative, oral surgery, periodontics, prosthetics, and examinations.
• Retrieve AIC records and escorts AICs to proper dental specialty section; seats and prepares AICs for attending Dental Officer.
• Assists the Dental Officer by preparing dental instruments, essential materials, and medications.
• Passes instruments, retracts tissues, irrigates oral cavity, and operates aspirator.
• Observes AIC responses and assists AIC for dismissal from dental clinic.
• Give instructions for subsequent dental appointments.
• Makes necessary entries on dental treatment records (both electronic (BEMR) and paper records).
• Prepares dental treatment room for the next AIC.
• Assists in the treatments of emergency cases with the Dental Officer.
• Provide dental health education.
• Assists the dentist with dental prophylaxis.
• Assists with dental screening examination.
• Prepares AIC for periodontal surgery.

Qualifications:

• Completion of an accredited dental assistant program.
• Certification/Registration as a Dental assistant in the state of Pennsylvania.
• Current CPR certification from the American Red Cross (ARC) or American Heart Association (AHA).

Experience Requirements

• Minimum of one (1) year of experience as a dental assistant.
• Experience in medical settings involving adult patients, preferably within correctional facilities, hospitals, or clinics

Work Schedule & Benefits

• Hours: Monday through Friday, 6:00 AM to 4:00 PM, with a 30-minute unpaid lunch break.
• Paid Time Off: Up to 80 hours annually.
• Sick Leave: Up to 56 hours annually.
• Holidays: Twelve (12) paid federal holidays per year.
