Job summary

Reformation in Los Angeles is seeking a Denim Design Assistant to support the in-house Design team across concept, trend research, mood boards, and the progression from sketch to CAD. You will report to our Director of Denim Design and help move new categories forward with precision and care.

The role collaborates with Designers, Merchandising, Product Development, and Technical Design to keep the studio running smoothly, maintain the design library, and contribute to wash development and sample

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Fashion Design or related field.
• 2–3 years of apparel/denim design experience.
• Proficiency in Illustrator and Photoshop; InDesign a plus.
• Experience with PLM or product-tracking tools a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist designers with denim concept development, trend research, and seasonal inspiration gathering.
• Build and maintain mood boards, color stories, and presentation decks for internal reviews and cross-functional meetings.
• Prepare and organize design sketches, tech packs, and CADs for vendor communication and line reviews.
• Track sample status, fit comments, and revision notes across styles; attend fittings and communicate updates to cross-functional partners.
• Coordinate with Production and Technical Design on timing, revisions, and product development milestones.
• Conduct ongoing market and competitive research; shop the market in person and online and summarize findings for the team.
• Maintain and organize the design library: fabric swatches, trims, references, and archive samples.
• Support with wash development and denim related tasks.
• Manage design team calendars, scheduling, and vendor follow-ups to keep the studio running efficiently.
