Job summary

ScionHealth is seeking a Denials & Appeals Coordinator to drive denial prevention and coordination across facilities and payors. You will partner with utilization management, case management, and the Centralized Business Office to ensure timely reviews, accurate documentation, and swift denial resolution.

Strong attention to detail, collaboration, and knowledge of Meditech and Referral Manager are essential.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of healthcare experience.
• Experience in case management, medical records, billing, utilization review or admissions a plus.
• High School Diploma or GED required; degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Serves as key team member of the Central Access and Authorizations Team (CAAT).
• Gathers clinical information from medical records and ensures denial documentation is complete.
• Coordinates peer-to-peer physician consults as needed; supports denial management processes.
• Monitors and analyzes denial trends by hospital, payer, or region.
• Prepares reports for leadership on denial trends and improvement opportunities.
