Job summary

Presbyterian Healthcare Services is seeking a Patient Accounting Denials Specialist I in Albuquerque, NM. This full-time role involves analyzing denials, performing A/R follow-up, and submitting appeals to overturn denials.

You will work with EHRs, claims processing systems, and payer portals to resolve issues. The candidate should have a high school diploma or GED and at least two years in insurance follow-up, billing, and collections, with strong communication skills and computer literacy.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum two years experience in insurance follow-up, billing, and collections.
• Strong communication skills via telephone and in writing; ability to use computer systems.

Responsibilities

• Perform denial follow-up activities for assigned payors using work queues.
• Submit corrected claims, reconsiderations, and/or appeals to overturn denials.
• Provide information (medical records, itemized statements) requested by insurers to process claims.
• Follow procedures to ensure timely follow up on outstanding denials.
• Document accounts in accordance with Presbyterian policies/procedures.
