Iredell Health System is seeking a Denial Specialist in Statesville, NC to manage denial and appeal activities that impact reimbursement. You will review denials, coordinate benefits, and communicate outcomes to stakeholders.

Ideal candidates have 3+ years in medical billing with coding knowledge, proficiency in payer websites, and strong analytical and problem-solving skills to reduce write-offs and improve revenue cycle performance.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 3+ years in medical billing with appeals and coding knowledge preferred.
• Experience with professional medical billing, claims processing, follow-up and appeals.
• Proficient with payer websites and Microsoft Office tools.
• CPC certification preferred but not required.
• Cerner EHR knowledge preferred but not required.

Responsabilités

• Review denied claims to ensure correct coding and make corrections as needed.
• Manage denial, appeal and coordination of benefits activity and communicate outcomes to stakeholders.
• Investigate claims with no payer response to ensure claim was received by payer.
• Stay current with compliance and changing regulatory guidelines; demonstrate knowledge of coding and medical terminology.
• Support process and quality improvement initiatives and report resolution of issues to management.
• Proactively resolve issues and maintain timely responses to questions.
• Identify missing payments, overpayments, and analyze credits on accounts.
• Work with the IPN Revenue Cycle Team to facilitate information and resolve charge questions.
