Job summary

Aramark in Denali National Park is seeking an Interpretive Hiking Guide to lead guests on informative excursions and interpret the area's ecology, geology, history, and culture. You will receive assignments a day ahead and travel via a 15-passenger van, with on-site housing, gym access, and an inclusive meal plan.

The role requires multi-lingual communication, strong interpersonal skills, and proven outdoor guiding experience.

Qualifications

• Training in First Aid protocols preferred.
• Experience guiding in Denali or similar environments is preferred.
• Ability to communicate clearly with guests of diverse ages and backgrounds.

Responsibilities

• Lead guests on organized and informative excursions.
• Educate guests on local ecology, geology, history, and culture.
• Receive assignment the day before the hike.
• Prepare for hikes with gear per Safety and Operations manual.
• Ensure gear is in good condition and coordinate pick-up/meeting assignments.
• Keep First Aid kit and emergency cell phone on person.
• Greet guests, brief plans, and collect vouchers or tickets.
• Provide safety briefing and assess guest abilities.
• Conduct hikes with leadership and interpretive knowledge.
• Perform Support Staff duties when no hikes are scheduled.
• Capable of safely operating a 15-passenger van; trained in required procedures.
• Follow all safety, security, emergencies, and energy policies.
• Report to work on time in full uniform.
