Job summary

JMC Concrete Cutting and Demolition is seeking a demolition laborer to safely perform physical tasks onsite for demolition construction projects.

Responsibilities include digging trenches, backfilling, and leveling earth, preparing materials to prevent hazards, and maintaining site safety per OSHA guidelines while handling tools and equipment daily.

Qualifications

  • Must have a valid driver’s license.
  • Requires a clean driving record.
  • At least 3 years of previous experience.
  • Be able to lift at least 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

  • Dig ditches or trenches, backfill excavations, compact and level earth to grade specifications, using picks, shovels, pneumatic tampers and rakes.
  • Clean, remove and prepare materials used on site to eliminate possible hazards
  • Control traffic passing near, in and around work zones; signal equipment operators to facilitate alignment, movement and adjustment of machinery, equipment and materials
  • Observe and comply with all company and specific site safety procedures and project policies, and maintain the construction site in strict accordance with OSHA guidelines
  • Perform a variety of manual tasks for extended periods of time, including lifting, positioning, and securing materials during installation
  • Responsible for care and custody of tools being used, including daily cleaning and maintenance
  • Upload tools and equipment from trucks and load trash into vehicles and dumpsters to be hauled away.
