Job summary

Bluestem Biosciences seeks an Operator Foreman to lead our first demonstration-scale facility in the Jackson/South Sioux City area. You will transition from construction to startup, then drive long-term commercial operations with a hands-on, boots-on-the-ground approach.

Reporting to the VP of Engineering, you will build the operations team, implement SOPs and safety programs, and liaise with executive leadership to ensure reliable, compliant production.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Chemical or Biochemical Engineering or equivalent hands-on experience.
• 3+ years in biochemical, bioethanol, food/beverage or specialty chemical ops.
• Experience leading ops teams and driving safety/compliance.

Responsibilities

• Direct daily plant operations to meet mass, energy, and yield targets.
• Develop and enforce SOPs, Work Instructions, and Site Safety Protocols.
• Identify bottlenecks and apply RCA to resolve issues.
• Build and lead an initial operations team of 8–12 staff.
• Coordinate commissioning/startup activities and CQV involvement.
