Job summary

Disney Cruise Line is seeking a Demi Chef De Rang to deliver a distinctive dining experience in our French-inspired luxury restaurants Remy or Enchanté. You will report to the Maitre d’Hotel and oversee service for 10–12 guests in station under direction from the Chef De Rang.

This shipboard role requires experience in fine dining, knowledge of international wines, and the ability to communicate confidently with well-traveled guests.

Qualifications

• Minimum one year (two years recommended) experience in a high-level fine dining service environment.
• Experience in a Michelin Star restaurant is required.
• Good knowledge of international wines and cocktail recipes, including brands of alcohol.
• Confidence in speaking to well-traveled guests.

Responsibilities

• Prioritize and coordinate service for 10 – 12 guests in station, under the Chef De Rang.
• Complete side work and other tasks such as mise en place, silverware, glassware, coffee/beverage station, linen, bread station, and cleanliness.
• Use Micros to ring in beverages and coordinate food delivery to station and guests.
• Coordinate ordering, pick-up and delivery of food and beverages to work station and guests.
• Comply with USPH sanitation and cleanliness standards throughout the work area.

As a Demi Chef De Rang in Remy or Enchanté, you will provide a dining experience to our guests like no other. These French-inspired luxury restaurants presents guests with a culinary experience crafted by accomplished Michelin star chefs.

Responsibilities :

How You Will Make a Difference

• Prioritize and coordinate service for 10 – 12 guests in station, at the direction of the Chef De Rang
• Complete all side work and other tasks assigned by Management, which may include preparing mise en place, polishing silverware and glassware, setting up coffee and beverage station, picking up linen, preparing bread station, and maintaining cleanliness of the restaurant during service
• Use computer work station to ring in alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages (Micros system)
• Coordinate the ordering, pick-up and delivery of all food and beverage to work station and to guests
• Understand food safety programs and maintain USPH (United States Public Health) sanitation and cleanliness standards throughout work area

This is a SHIPBOARD role.

You must:

• Be genuinely interested in a career at sea and willing to live and work onboard a Disney Cruise Line vessel
• Be willing to follow and perform safety role, emergency responsibilities, and associated responsibilities as specified in the ship Assembly Plan
• Be willing to uphold the general safety management responsibilities as specified in the Safety Management System in areas and operations under their control
• If applicable, be willing to share a confined cabin with other crew members and appreciative of working and living in a multicultural environment that has strict rules and regulations

Your Responsibilities:

• Have a valid passport and C1/D Seaman's visa (DCL will provide you with documents to obtain this)
• Complete a pre-employment medical
• Obtain a criminal background check
• Bring approved work shoes
