Western Digital is seeking a New College Graduate to join our HDD Supply Planning team as an Industrial Engineer. The ideal candidate will enter the company with a solid foundation in supply chain management and data analytics, along with relevant internship or work experience.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Creating weekly–monthly–quarterly demand signals for operations team to source and build HDD
  • Collaborating with Sales, Business Unit and Account Management teams to align supply with Customer demand
  • Driving strategic discussions with the BU to align on inventory staging and trade‑off opportunities
  • Communicating critical demand changes with Factory teams proactively and working to optimize capacity as much as possible
  • Working closely with Product Managers for End‑Of‑Life planning and new product transitions while minimizing inventory exposure
  • Publishing daily demand supply reports for customer commits
  • Monitoring forecasted demand vs. actual consumption and providing input to prioritize factory schedules
  • Driving continuous process area improvements
  • Supporting UAT efforts while the company implements a new Advanced Planning system
Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Business, Supply Chain or Industrial Engineering Statistics with a minimum of three years of work experience preferred
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills required; other data analytics and data visualization skillsets are a plus
  • Excellent written and oral communication, interpersonal and relational skills, with the ability to quickly develop relationships of trust and confidence with a variety of people and personalities at all levels within an organization
  • Self‑motivated with the ability to effectively multi‑task and work collaboratively in a fast‑paced, team environment
  • Strong active listening skills with the ability to ask thoughtful and probing questions to determine client needs
  • Ability to make clear, logical decisions based on facts, taking into account the big picture, long‑ and short‑term effects, and exercising sound judgment when handling complaints, confidential and sensitive issues
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver consistent positive results through influencing, coordinating, and managing the efforts of others

Compensation & Benefits Details
  • Employee pay position within the salary range may be based on factors including education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, shift, internal and external equity, and business needs.
  • The salary range is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. The actual pay may be higher or lower. The range is applicable for jobs performed in California, Colorado, New York or remote jobs that can be performed in those states.
  • If your position is non‑exempt, you are eligible for overtime pay pursuant to company policy and applicable laws. Overtime may be paid based on shift differential as well.
  • You will be eligible to be considered for bonuses under either Western Digital’s Short Term Incentive Plan (“STI Plan”) or the Sales Incentive Plan (“SIP”). You may also be eligible to participate in our annual Long‑Term Incentive (LTI) program, which includes restricted stock units (RSUs) or cash equivalents. Eligibility varies by role.
