Medical Devices Company is seeking a Demand & Supply Chain Planning contractor in Irvine, CA for a 12-month assignment. Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field.
  • 2–3 years in supply chain, demand planning or related analytics roles.
  • Experience with ERP systems (SAP a plus).
  • Experience in manufacturing, life sciences or medical devices is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Support demand planning through data collection, validation, reporting, and analysis.
  • Assist forecasting, forecast accuracy monitoring, and trend analysis.
  • Support supply and inventory planning to ensure product availability.
  • Collaborate with planners/buyers to mitigate shortages and excess inventory.
  • Maintain master data accuracy across ERP and planning systems.
  • Develop reports, dashboards, and KPIs for decision-making.
  • Participate in data migration, system validation, and UAT during system projects.

Rate of pay is $30

Job Description -

  • This role supports demand planning, inventory management, master data governance, and supply chain operations within a dynamic medical device environment.
  • This role is responsible for maintaining data integrity, analyzing planning and inventory performance, supporting business systems and integration initiatives, and assisting with day-to-day planning and purchasing activities.
  • The position works closely with Planning, Procurement, Manufacturing, Quality, Regulatory Affairs, Customer Service, Finance, and IT to ensure accurate data and efficient supply chain execution. Given the organization's ongoing business transformation, system implementation, and process improvement initiatives, this role will play a key part in supporting integration activities, testing, data validation, and operational readiness efforts.
  • The ideal candidate is highly analytical, detail-oriented, adaptable to change with broader ownership of demand, supply, and inventory planning responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities
Demand Planning & Supply Chain Support
  • Support demand planning activities through data collection, validation, reporting, and analysis.
  • Assist with forecasting processes, forecast accuracy monitoring, and demand trend analysis.
  • Support supply planning and inventory planning activities to ensure product availability and continuity of supply.
  • Partner with planners/buyers to identify and mitigate potential shortages, excess inventory, and supply risks
Inventory Management & Reconciliation
  • Monitor inventory levels, transactions, and discrepancies across internal and external locations.
  • Investigate inventory variances and coordinate corrective actions with Operations, Logistics, Finance, and Contract Manufacturers.
  • Partner with Accounts Payable and Receiving teams to resolve invoice, receipt, and inventory transaction discrepancies.
  • Analyze inventory health metrics, excess and obsolete inventory, and inventory performance trends.
Data Management & Analytics
  • Maintain and improve supply chain master data accuracy across ERP, planning, and reporting systems.
  • Perform data audits and validation activities to ensure planning inputs remain accurate and reliable.
  • Develop and maintain reports, dashboards, KPIs, and analytical tools to support decision-making.
  • Analyze large data sets to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Support data governance initiatives and continuous improvement efforts.
System Implementation & Integration Support
  • Support ERP, planning system, and supply chain software implementation projects.
  • Participate in user acceptance testing (UAT), system validation, defect tracking, and process documentation.
  • Assist with data migration, master data validation, and system integration activities.
  • Collaborate with business, IT, and external consulting teams to support successful project execution.
  • Help develop and document future-state supply chain processes and standard work.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Work closely with Planning, Procurement, Manufacturing, Quality, Regulatory Affairs, Finance, Customer Service, and IT teams.
  • Communicate supply chain risks, assumptions, and recommendations to stakeholders.
  • Support New Product Introduction (NPI), product lifecycle management, and business integration activities.
  • Facilitate issue resolution through effective communication and stakeholder engagement.
  • Continuous Improvement
  • Identify opportunities to improve planning processes, reporting capabilities, and data quality.
  • Support automation and process simplification initiatives.
  • Contribute to operational excellence and business transformation efforts.
Minimum Qualifications
Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Operations Management, Engineering, Data Analytics, or a related field.
Experience
  • 2-3 years of experience in supply chain, demand planning, supply planning, inventory planning, procurement, or related analytical roles.
  • Experience working with inventory management, inventory reconciliation, receiving processes, and transaction accuracy.
  • Experience supporting ERP systems (SAP is a plus), planning tools, or business system implementations is preferred.
  • Experience in a manufacturing, life sciences or medical device environment is preferred.
Required Skills & Competencies
  • Strong understanding of demand planning, supply planning, inventory management, and purchasing processes.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

  • Understanding of how Supply Chain, Operations, Quality, Regulatory Affairs, Finance, Commercial, and IT functions interact within a medical device company.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and proficiency with data analysis tools.
  • Experience with ERP and supply planning systems such as SAP, Oracle, Kinaxis, OMP, or equivalent platforms is a plus.
