Job summary

TEKsystems is partnering with a leading global apparel and outdoor lifestyle company to fill a short-term Demand Planning Analyst / Merchandising Analyst role that supports its DTC business. The position offers a mostly remote team with a Carlsbad, CA office and a contract length of about 2 months, with potential extension or conversion.

You will analyze product performance, maintain Excel reports and dashboards, and prepare presentations for leadership to drive inventory and assortment

Qualifications

• Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including Pivot Tables and Formulas.
• Experience in Demand Planning or Merchandising is preferred.
• Experience presenting insights to stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Analyze weekly and monthly product performance across retail and online channels.
• Refresh and maintain Excel reporting, KPIs, and dashboards.
• Create PowerPoint presentations with business insights and recommendations.
• Monitor inventory levels, sell-through rates, markdown opportunities, and exit strategies.
• Evaluate store performance and identify inventory rebalancing opportunities.
• Assess size availability, assortment needs, and product performance trends.
• Collaborate with store operations and merchandising teams to support business decisions.
• Present findings and recommendations to leadership.

Demand Planning Analyst / Merchandising Analyst

Location: Carlsbad, CA (near San Diego)

Pay: $48.00/hr

Contract Length: 2 months (through approximately December 17) There is a chance to become a FTE or be extended until that opportunity is available.

Remote Option: Potential for fully remote consideration - The majority of the team is remote, but the office is located in Carlsbad, CA

About the Opportunity

We're partnering with a leading global apparel and outdoor lifestyle company seeking a Demand Planning Analyst / Merchandising Analyst to support their Direct-to-Consumer (DTC) business. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys combining data analysis, merchandising strategy, inventory planning, and retail business insights to drive product performance across both eCommerce and retail channels.

What You'll Do

• Analyze weekly and monthly product performance across retail and online channels

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $48.00 - $48.00/hr.
