Job summary

Petco is seeking a Demand Planning Analyst in Massachusetts to optimize inventory for in-store and online channels. You will analyze stock levels, forecast accuracy, and supplier performance to ensure product availability and timely deliveries across Pet Care Centers and online orders.

Ideal candidates will have experience in demand planning or merchandising, strong analytical skills, and the ability to navigate cross-functional teams under tight deadlines.

Qualifications

  • 4-year degree or equivalent experience in related role. Concentration in Retail Management, Supply Chain, Business or a related field a plus.
  • 2 years+ of prior Demand Planning or Merchandising experience a plus.
  • Entrepreneurial spirit with strong analytical, forecasting, problem solving, and detail orientation. Basic financial acumen.
  • Ability to manage large sets and interpret data. Technical proficiency in MS Office, including demonstrable skills in databases and spreadsheets.
  • Demonstrated planning, organization, and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively.
  • Comfortable with ambiguity and tight deadlines.
  • Experience driving results, fostering relationships, and influencing others.

Responsibilities

  • Manage business performance and drive omnichannel operational and service goals by analyzing inventory in-stocks, productivity, budget, turn-over, and tuning RELEX forecast accuracy.
  • Develop recommendations, communicate, and execute action plans as necessary to mitigate business risk.
  • Develop new SKU-Store level forecasts in RELEX and review exceptions in a timely manner.
  • Ensure incremental pricing, promotion, and seasonal forecasts and inventory plans are built and executed.
  • Cultivate strategicVendor partnerships and drive integrated supply chain performance through joint planning and forecasting activities and solving for performance opportunities and risks.
  • Actively participate and meet all deadlines in cross-functional SKU, Category, and Seasonal Transition process, including developing new SKU level inventory strategy and ensuring strong in-stock performance at time of reset
  • Regularly review inventory settings, including service level, order cycles, and lead times, to maximize inventory performance.
  • Monitor receipts and collaborate with Vendor and Supply Chain partners to resolve Purchase Order issues to ensure product is delivered on time.
  • Proactively verify RELEX placement levers and key SKU-Category inventory allocations for our Pet Care Centers (stores) to support upcoming promotions and events.
  • Partner and communicate regularly and effectively (written and verbal) with Merchants, Space Management, Finance, Supply Chain, Vendor partners.

Job Description

A role in Petco Inventory Management means applying your specialized and well-informed point of view to what we buy, from whom, how much, and where it needs to go from there.You’lluse the right combination of data andexpertiseto achieve the best possible product availability through properomnichannelinventory positioning.You’llestablishand develop great relationships with our vendors to encourage on-time shipment and delivery to our Pet Care Centers (stores)and ultimately, ourguests and their pets.It’syour skills that help bring our guests what they want, when they want it, whether guestsshopour stores or online.We’llbe supporting you with extensive trainingtohelp you grow as a strong Demand Planning Analyst.Your development will becultivatedthrough anarray of resourcesand opportunities for professional growth.
