Job description

A Little About Us

Oats Overnight is on a mission to build a generational CPG brand. Since 2016, our high-protein, drinkable oatmeal has reached over a million customers through direct-to-consumer, and we’re now scaling with all major nationwide retail and club partners. Our goal: become a household brand by leveraging speed, storytelling, and strategy.

A Little About Us

We are vertically integrated: we develop, manufacture, and fulfill everything in-house. This operational control allows us to engage customers directly into the R&D process, an initiative where we were first-to-market in CPG. It also makes our brand tangible and real: our factory, our team, and our product pipeline are all part of the narrative. This is an exciting stage - we are emerging as a significant omni-channel brand and launching new products to capture significant market share across verticals. We want you to help us get there. Every teammate here has equity because we’re building something big, and everyone plays an important role. If you’re excited about building a brand that does things differently, this is that opportunity.

What’s The Job?

The Demand Planner builds the forecast that the rest of the company runs on. This is not a data-entry role. You’ll help predict what our customers will buy across retail, club, direct-to-consumer (DTC), and marketplace channels, so that production, purchasing, and logistics plan around real demand instead of guesses. You’ll own a set of channels and items, maintain the statistical forecast, gather input from Sales, Marketing, and Finance, and track forecast accuracy so we get better every cycle. You’ll work closely with Supply Planning, Sales, Marketing, and Finance to turn promotions, new items, and customer orders into a clear demand picture. This is an entry-level role built for someone early in their supply chain career, including recent graduates. We’re a company with a growing product line and customer base, which means you’ll get real exposure to demand planning across every channel, with training and a strong manager to guide you.

What You’ll Be Doing, Stop Scanning and Read This Part
Forecasting + Demand Analysis
  • Build and maintain statistical forecasts by item, customer, and channel across retail, club, DTC, and marketplace
  • Apply historical sales, seasonality, and trends, and adjust for promotions, price changes, distribution gains and losses, and new item launches
  • Update the forecast on a regular cadence and explain the drivers behind changes in demand
  • Monitor retailer point-of-sale and shipment data, DTC order trends, and marketplace sales to spot demand shifts early
Cross-Functional Input + IBP Support
  • Gather and document input from Sales, Marketing, and Finance on promotions, launches, and customer plans, and challenge assumptions with data
  • Prepare forecast materials and reports for the monthly Integrated Business Planning (IBP) process
  • Partner with Supply Planning so production and materials plans reflect the latest demand picture
  • Flag demand risks and opportunities, such as spikes, shortfalls, and excess inventory exposure, before they become problems
Forecast Accuracy + Reporting
  • Measure and report forecast accuracy and bias by item, customer, and channel, and dig into the biggest misses
  • Build recurring reports and dashboards that give Sales, Supply Planning, and leadership a clear view of demand and inventory coverage
  • Document forecasting assumptions and processes so the work is repeatable as the business grows
Continuous Improvement
  • Clean and maintain item, customer, and forecast master data in our planning and ERP systems
  • Identify ways to reduce manual work and improve forecast quality, and use data and AI tools to automate routine analysis
  • Contribute to the ongoing buildout of the demand planning function as it scales
  • Other duties as assigned
What You’ve Done And Who You Are
  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, operations, business analytics, or a related field, or 0 to 2 years of relevant experience; recent graduates are welcome and encouraged to apply
  • Strong Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, formulas); coursework, an internship, or project experience in forecasting or planning is a plus
  • Curiosity about how demand really works: you ask why a number moved, not just what it was
  • Strong analytical skills and comfort working with large data sets; exposure to SQL, Power BI, Tableau, or similar tools is a plus
  • Strong organizational skills and a bias toward follow-through. Things don’t fall through the cracks on your watch.
  • Someone that can partner and influence at all different levels. You can explain a forecast to a salesperson and a finance partner on the same day and land both.
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities and navigate in a fast moving environment where the process is still being built
  • AI fluency: an open mindset toward AI tools and a willingness to experiment and learn
  • A relentless drive to get things done.
  • Flexible, willing, and quick to learn new processes, new technology, and new ways of thinking.
Why You Might Like Working Here
  • This is going to be fun.
  • This is a real role with real ownership, not a reporting seat dressed up with a better title
  • Casual, friendly culture. We’re serious about what we do but we don’t take ourselves too seriously.
  • Every employee has equity
  • High growth potential with opportunities to expand. You’ll learn the full demand picture across every channel, and strong performers will grow into senior planning and leadership roles.
  • Free oatmeal. It’s very good.
Why You Might Not Like Working Here
  • It’s not a cushy job, the bar is high
  • We are growing quickly, and have a fast-paced work environment.
  • Forecasts are never perfect, and you’ll be asked to defend your numbers and learn from the misses
  • We are still building the infrastructure around this role. You’ll need to be comfortable creating a process, not just following it.
Our Core Values
  • Ownership - We are all owners. We show up with passion and accountability in everything we do. If something’s broken, fix it or call it out.
  • Rational - How we decide matters. We focus on what we can control and make high-quality decisions repeatedly.
  • Iterative - We challenge the status quo and improve constantly. When data or situations change, we adapt.
  • Curiosity - We ask questions, even when it’s uncomfortable. Learning and leading go hand in hand.
Physical Demands
  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • You must be able to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state, and local standards
  • You must be able to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state, and local standards
The Perks
  • Full Benefits; Medical, Dental, Vision and 401k
  • Parental Leave
  • 4 Weeks of paid time off
  • Weekly Pay
  • Stock options, every employee is an owner
  • Free, delicious oatmeal

And last but never least…. We value people who roll up their sleeves and support their fellow team members. We embrace diversity and encourage equal opportunity every chance we get, and we look forward to learning from people whose backgrounds, skills, and perspectives challenge and enrich our own.
