Certis Biologicals, a leading developer, manufacturer, and marketer of biopesticides, is seeking a motivated and articulate professional to manage row crop field trials, product training, and overall demand creation activities throughout the Midwest USA (ideal Iowa or Nebraska).

Primary Roles and Responsibilities Include:

  • Manage ongoing field trials in row crop acres to develop proven ROI data. Trials should be conducted primarily through national retailers, academic research/extension institutions and/or commodity groups. Participate in reporting trial outcomes to Regional Sales Managers and/or Field Development team members when needed.
  • Product knowledge training and technical support of the regional field sales team, including oversight of distributor/retailer demonstration trials, interfacing with key market influencers, presentations to customers, participation in trade shows, distributor/grower meetings, and field tours.
  • Collaboration with Product Development, Regulatory, and Marketing teams, providing analysis and technical input to support new product launches and market expansion of existing products.
  • Represent the company through participation in professional conferences, commodity group events, and scientific meetings.
  • Co-develop a multi-year Demand Creation Campaign that matches industry insights with historical sales data of Certis and competitor products that clearly identifies a target for market penetration, utilizing focused Certis brands.
  • Develop a commercial row crop trialing program or participate in a customer’s trial program in conjunction with the judicious use of product sample material to effectively drive an ongoing customer validation campaign that further verifies product attributes.
  • Build distributor/retailer confidence through ongoing technical support to speed the adoption and integration of Certis brand biologicals into their row crop plans including tank-mixes, application timing, efficacy data, Modes of Action (MOA) and Return on Investment (ROI).
  • Lead demand generation strategies and on the ground activities for developing, executing, and measuring campaigns that are created in the adoption and integration of Certis products into the Row Crop (RC) market primarily across the Midwest to further drive revenue growth
  • Analyze ongoing demand trends, seasonality, and regional variations to effectively direct demand creation and generate sales leads that convert them into customers.
  • Bring Certis brand awareness, engage audiences, and create a pipeline of potential large dealer customers through multiple educational offerings that convert initial interest into sales.
  • Organize and oversee a dealer scorecard to measure and nurture our current RC relationships and identify high-quality leads across gap areas to rank and prioritize our growth opportunities.


Key Competencies:

  • Must have a proven understanding of the targeted Row Crop (RC) audience and be able to develop effective rapport to expand demand creation growth through new outreach and relationships with dealer networks across all regions where our product portfolio matches row crops grown.
  • Understand customer mindsets and behaviors
  • Expert-level understanding of the agriculture industry and each of its key components
  • Subject matter expert on growing cycles of row crop markets across the U.S.
  • Has a broad view and knowledge of the row crop market environment, including competitors
  • Excellent communicator and technologically-savvy
  • Proven results-oriented and process-driven with a can-do mentality


Key Qualifications:

  • 15+ years of industry experience working in agronomy sales and demand creation, and agronomy technical service roles supporting sales and marketing activities.
  • Minimum of BS degree in Agriculture, Agribusiness, or another Ag-related major
  • Education in Crop or Plant Science is beneficial
  • Technical experience and depth in Agri biological technologies and biological solutions
  • Experience in sales or marketing, and/or commercial operations
  • Ability to work independently and in teams in a fast-paced market environment.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, including proficiency in MS Office tools, and comfortable making public presentations


Work Environment / Travel Requirements:

  • The Demand Creation Manager is a remote role but must be located near sizeable row crop markets. Travel up to 35% will be required to customer locations and industry meetings throughout the U.S.
