Job description

This position will support the Planning team in analyzing factors that drive demand and optimizing inventory levels within SAP. This position is responsible for maintaining planning BOMs to drive forecast, reviewing safety stock, and collaborating with supply chain to mitigate risk.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Analyze historical sales data to identify trends and patterns within product lines.
  2. Analyze, monitor, and adjust safety stock to improve reliability and minimize material inventory.
  3. Review root cause analysis for material shortages, evaluate, and implement preventative actions.
  4. Participate in regular meetings to present findings and recommendations.
  5. Support as an SAP technical liaison for the planning team.
  6. Support best practices across the strategic planning processes, including forecast methodology, sustainment activities, and continuous improvement of the SIOP/S&OP process.
  7. Support inventory management programs and establish inventory strategies to meet market requested lead-times.
  8. Review and maintain planning BOMs based on BOM structure and usage probability.
  9. Collaborate with the supply chain team to ensure alignment of inventory targets with the forecast plan and the supply plan (order to demand, VMI, consignment, blanket orders, etc.)
  10. Support planning initiatives for R&D and NPD projects (material risk mitigation, release planning, etc.)
  11. Contribute to data flow optimization for purchasing strategies, inventory, material handling, and manufacturing resources.
  12. Ensure data integrity of our SAP system.
  13. Participate actively, identify, and lead continuous improvement projects.
  14. Collaborate with Purchasing, Production Development, Operations, Product Centers, R&D, and Project Management to influence and attain executable plans.
Qualifications

Required Skills

  • Highly skilled in Microsoft Office Suite & SAP; GIB experience preferred.
  • Understanding of master data, production control, supply chain, manufacturing, and their integration into strategic and tactical planning.
  • Proficient in risk and constraint mitigation with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective communicator with proven ability to work collaboratively to achieve business objectives focused on customer satisfaction.
  • High proficiency in Excel; experience with Visual Basic preferred.
Education & Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Data Analytics, or a related field; relevant work experience may substitute for a degree.
  • Minimum of 1-3 years in Planning or Logistics within a manufacturing environment.
  • Minimum of 1-3 years working with SAP or similar ERP systems.
Additional Information

For New York, the expected salary range is between $74k and $94k per year.Employees are eligible for a profit-sharing bonus with a target of 10%. Actual compensation depends on experience, location, and other factors.
