Job summary

Meyers is seeking a Delta Press Operator to run a Delta converting machine and produce high-quality labels and converted products. You will help develop new materials and applications while meeting project specs.

This full-time role offers multiple shifts (Nights 6pm–6am, Mon/Tues/Wed or Thu/Fri/Sat, with every other Sunday). Generous shift differentials accompany competitive wages and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• 2+ years of recent machine operation experience in manufacturing.
• Able to read, write and perform basic math for weights/dimensions.
• Ability to stand for long periods and handle physical tasks safely.
• Commitment to quality, safety and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Review job orders to ensure requirements are understood.
• Set up/adjust press to meet specifications.
• Monitor quality and compare to drawings and standards.
• Troubleshoot and correct press operating problems.
• Perform routine press maintenance and cleaning.
• Complete related job paperwork accurately.
• Support R&D and Production with new applications.

As a Delta Press Operator, you are responsible for a Delta converting machine and manufacturing high-quality labels and specialized converted products. You will contribute to the development of new and innovative products encompassing a wide range of different materials.

Multiple Shifts Available. We are growing!

Nights: 6pm-6am, Mon/Tues/Wed or Thu/Fri/Sat- both shifts also include every other Sunday.

Operator Responsibilities

• Perform job order review to ensure job requirements are known and understood.
• Set up/adjust press for job runs to meet specifications.
• Monitor product quality during production runs. Check product quality against drawing and established quality standards. Take action to correct any problems.
• Troubleshoot and correct most press operating problems.
• Perform routine press maintenance, upkeep and cleaning.
• Complete accurately all related job paperwork.
• Maintain acceptable productivity standards while minimizing raw material waste.
• Assist R&D and Production teams in researching and developing new applications.

Qualifications And Experience

• Ability to understand and apply detailed instructions, completing detailed work precisely.
• Shop math skills including fractions, percentages and precise measurements.
• Demonstrated ability to meet or exceed performance and quality standards.
• Ability to meet physical demands of job including the ability to stand for extended periods of time; use of hands/dexterity; stoop, kneel, lift, carry, push and pull. Close and distant vision, accurate color perception, and peripheral vision are critical.
• Demonstrated ability to understand and follow safety standards.
• Good record of job performance, attendance and punctuality.
• Proven interpersonal, communications and listening skills.
• Ability to adjust to multiple demands, shifting work priorities and change.
• Computer literate.
• Familiar with basic hand tools and inspection equipment such as calipers both dial and digital.
• Good problem solver.
• Knowledge of paper stocks, inks and related materials/techniques used in the printing industry
• Experience in the flexographic printing environment is an asset

Minimum Qualifications

• High School general education or GED equivalent.
• Two (2) plus years of recent experience operating a machine in a manufacturing environment.
• Must be able to read, write legibly, follow verbal and written instructions, and perform basic mathematical calculations dealing with weights and dimensions.
