IT Senior Principal Software Engineer – Site Reliability Engineering

What you’ll achieve

As a Senior Principal Software Engineer of the Reliability Engineering team, you will work in a highly collaborative environment with development, infrastructure and business teams globally to ensure that systems are healthy and designed for scale maintaining Dell’s Order management excellence.

The candidate is passionate and involves full stack visibility, a broad knowledge in application, databases, servers, virtualization, networking and automation.

You will:

1. Own Dell Order management applications that require good knowledge in Oracle EBS, Oracle PL/SQL, REST APIs, .NET, and Job Scheduler.
2. Identify reliability opportunities proposing major functional or performance enhancements for existing products such as solution redesign or solution development.
3. Develop automations to contain defects and improve the ecosystem reliability.
4. Work with other Dell Digital groups, vendors, and business units to lead, monitor and improve system performance. Also, work with Security team proactively to mitigate security risks.
5. Develop our Reliability product using various technologies and automation.

Essential Requirements

1. Ability to read application source codes in Oracle PL/SQL (Oracle stored procedures/triggers/packages), functional knowledge in Oracle E-Business Suite, .Net, C#, Java and be able to troubleshoot application issues in production.
2. Significant understanding of IT industry methodologies and principles (DevOps, Agile, SOLID…) with experience in REST APIs and messaging systems like IBM MQ, RabbitMQ, Kafka, microservices architectures and containerization platforms such as Kubernetes and Docker, and experience with Oracle and MongoDB DBMS.
3. Automation Experience – Python, Ruby, PowerShell, Grafana, etc. as an advantage.
4. Experience with scripting languages in Windows and Linux (PowerShell/Bash), applications system administration in Azure or other cloud providers.
5. Experience with production engineering or SRE practices with real-time production support of business-critical services.

Desirable Requirements

1. Bachelor’s degree in computing engineering or computer science with 8-10+ years of validated experience with good functional and technical knowledge in strong problem solving and analytical skills, Oracle EBS (E-Business Suite), Cloud Foundry / Pivotal methodology and ITIL.
2. Passionate about SRE, DevOps, Automation and infrastructure platforms. Must excel with agile and lean development practices and manage multiple priorities and multiple roles. Advanced knowledge of automated testing tools and procedures.
