Primary Responsibility

The Delivery Yard Driver is primarily responsible for maintaining an organized and efficient GHRA yard. This includes spotting delivery trucks at the appropriate loading docks and removing them promptly after loading. The role supports high customer satisfaction by ensuring timely, accurate deliveries and proper handling of product returns and invoices. The Delivery Yard Driver also ensures all operations are compliant with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations.

Responsible for transporting, unloading and staging merchandise at customer locations.

Essential Functions

• Spot trucks and trailers at the loading dock.
• Pull trucks off the loading dock as needed.
• Inspect and verify that all truck and trailer locks are functioning properly.
• Conduct maintenance audits on trucks and trailers.
• Drive to offsite warehouse locations for emergency transfers when required.
• Refuel trucks and trailers as necessary.
• Perform customer deliveries when needed.
• Keep trucks and trailers organized within the yard.
• Transport products to customer locations efficiently.
• Unload, stage, and verify products accurately at customer sites.
• Ensure all product returns are properly documented.
• Return all products and empty totes to the warehouse daily.
• Adhere to all operational and quality control procedures.
• Comply with all government regulations.
• Perform any additional duties assigned by management.

Educational Requirements

• Class A driver’s license

Physical Requirements

• Lifting: Will be required to lift items up to 75 lbs.
• Pushing/Pulling: Pallet jack or dolly-pulling product out of the trailer
• Standing: To operate controls on equipment
• Sitting: Drive from one location to another
• Climbing: Up and down enter/exit truck up to 18in. high and climb ladder, steps and ramps
• Walking: With pallet jack or dolly
• Squatting: To restack items if needed
• Stooping: To adjust dock ramps
