Job Summary

Perform a wide variety of activities related to the processing, storage, distribution and transport of equipment and material.

Responsibilities

• Deliver equipment and material to campus department.
• Deliver a wide variety of items to different locations throughout the University.
• Follow routes and time schedule.
• Load, unload, prepare, inspect and operate a delivery vehicle.
• Complete work logs.
• Operate delivery vehicles, forklifts and other warehouse equipment.
• Utilize material handling equipment and/or physically load and unload material on delivery vehicle.
• Manage accountability for all items loaded, delivered, signed for and returning delivery paperwork (signed and dated) to Central Receiving, Archiving and Records, and Property Control.
• Develop and maintain open communication with departmental personnel to facilitate timely and efficient on‑campus delivery of equipment and material.
• Regularly check warehouse vehicles for fluid levels, tire pressure and cleanliness; report potential safety issues or service needs.
• Maintain clean and accident‑free work space.
• Obey and enforce safety standards, policies, and procedures.
• Assist any staff member, faculty, student or visitor of Georgia Southern University, as appropriate.

Required Qualifications

Educational Requirements:

• High School Diploma or equivalent.

Other Required Qualifications:

• Forklift certified or obtain forklift certification within six (6) months of employment.

Required Experience:

• One (1) or more years of related work experience.
• Experience in driving flatbed trucks.

Preferred Qualifications

Preferred Educational Qualifications:

• Associate's Degree.

Preferred Experience:

• Three (3) or more years of related work experience.

Proposed Salary

$15.84 — $17.24 per hour.

This is a non‑exempt position paid on a biweekly basis.

Abilities:

• Proven proficiency with computers including Microsoft Office, Google, and/or applications as required for specific position.
• Ability to operate forklift, service vehicle and 2.5 ton flatbed truck with hydraulic lift.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
