Job summary

Buddy’s Home Furnishings is seeking a Delivery Technician to support showroom appearance and handle delivery and pick-up of merchandise. You will also assist with other duties as assigned by the manager. Strong communication and growth potential are emphasized in this in-person position.

Responsibilities include acquiring customers, demonstrating product features, and ensuring safety during transport and installation of furniture, appliances, and electronics.

Qualifications

• Intermediate math skills.
• Maintain professional appearance.
• Must be able to drive during daytime and nighttime and meet all safety requirements.
• Must be able to explain terms of rental/lease agreement to customer.
• Must be able to read, write and communicate effectively in person and over telephone.
• Must be able to work overtime.
• Must be able to show product features and benefits to customers.
• Must have a clean driving record and meet insurability requirements.
• Regular and consistent attendance, including nights and weekends as business dictates.

Delivery Technician Position Summary

Help maintain appearance of showroom. Take primary role in delivery and pick up of merchandise. May perform additional functions or duties as assigned by the general manager. Demonstrate effective communication and reasoning skills and show growth potential.

Principal Responsibilities

• Acquire and maintain customers

• Basic furniture, appliance and electronics installation/removal

• Protection of company assets including but not limited to inventory, equipment and vehicles

• Must have proficient navigational skills with a satisfactory driving record and meet insurability requirements
• Regular and consistent attendance, including nights and weekends as business dictates

General Physical Requirements

• Position routinely requires lifting, loading, moving and using a dolly for merchandise 50-300 pounds
• Stooping, bending, pulling, climbing, reaching and grabbing as required
• Must be able to traverse multiple flights of stairs while carrying furniture, appliances and electronics
• Prolonged driving and standing
• Must be able to work outdoors in a variety of climates and weather conditions
