Buddy's Home Furnishings is hiring a Delivery Technician to manage showroom delivery and pickup, with growth potential. You will communicate effectively and support sales by demonstrating features and assisting customers.

The role requires basic math, a presentable appearance, and reliable driving. Training is provided; this is an in-person position at the Adel, IA location, with Sundays closed and PTO offered.

Qualifications

• Intermediate math skills required.
• Must maintain professional appearance throughout shifts.
• Must be able to drive during daytime and night hours with a clean driving record.
• Ability to explain rental/lease terms to customers clearly.
• Willingness to work overtime and weekends as needed.

Delivery Technician Position Summary

Help maintain appearance of showroom. Take primary role in delivery and pick up of merchandise. May perform additional functions or duties as assigned by the general manager. Demonstrate effective communication and reasoning skills and show growth potential.

Principal Responsibilities

• Acquire and Maintain Customers
• Demonstrate product features and explain benefits of those features
• Basic furniture, appliance and electronics installation/removal
• Comply with all company vehicle safety standards and documentation
• Inside/outside service calls
• Protection of company assets including but not limited to inventory, equipment and vehicles
• All other duties deemed necessary by store management

Requirements / Responsibilities

Requirements for Delivery Technician

• Intermediate math skills

• Must be able to drive during daytime, nighttime and meet all safety requirements
• Must be able to explain terms of rental/lease agreement to customer
• Must be able to fill out receipt books and make journal entries
• Must be able to read, write and communicate effectively in person and over telephone.
• Must be able to work overtime
• Must be able to work on showroom floor and be proficient in product features and benefits
• Must have proficient navigational skills with a satisfactory driving record and meet insurability requirements
• Regular and consistent attendance, including nights and weekends as business dictates

General Physical Requirements

• Position routinely requires lifting, loading, moving and using a dolly for merchandise 50-300 pounds
• Stooping, bending, pulling, climbing, reaching and grabbing as required
• Must be able to traverse multiple flights of stairs while carrying furniture, appliances and electronics
• Prolonged driving and standing
• Must be able to work outdoors in a variety of climates and weather conditions
