Job summary

Gulf Coast Medical Supply in Mississippi is seeking a Delivery Driver-Patient Service Technician to join our growing team. You will drive local routes to deliver and set up medical equipment in patients' homes.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, a valid driver’s license, and the ability to educate patients on safe equipment use. On-call hours and on-site work are part of the schedule.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Background check required with individualized assessment.
• Drug screen where applicable.
• Valid driver’s license with clean driving record.
• Medical terminology knowledge preferred.
• One year of related work experience preferred.
• Experience with medical equipment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Deliver and set up medical equipment in patients' homes.
• Educate patients and caregivers on safe use of equipment.
• Maintain and troubleshoot equipment for safety.
• Complete delivery documentation and patient visit reports.
• Keep company vehicle clean and ready for service.
• Respond to urgent equipment needs and participate in on-call rotations.
• Follow safety protocols and company standards.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Position: Delivery Driver- Patient Service Technician

Position Summary:

• Full-time
• Regular hours plus on call hours

Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED equivalent, required
• Background check (company-wide). Results will not be used automatically to disqualify individuals. Instead, the Company will conduct an individualized assessment that considers the duties of the position, the nature and timing of the offense, and any evidence of rehabilitation, in accordance with applicable laws.
• Drug screen (when applicable for the position)
• Compliance with healthcare facility credentialing process (when applicable for the position)
• Valid driver’s license in state of residence with a clean driving record (when applicable for the position)
• Experience with medical equipment, preferred
• One year of related work experience, preferred

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

• Available for on-call assignments as needed (after business hours, weekends &/or holidays)
• Drive local routes to deliver and set up medical equipment in patients' homes.
• Educate patients and caregivers on safe use and maintenance of respiratory and home medical equipment.
• Maintain and troubleshoot equipment to ensure proper function and patient safety.
• Complete delivery documentation and patient visit reports accurately and on time.
• Keep your assigned company vehicle clean, safe, and ready for service.
• Respond to urgent equipment needs and participate in on-call rotations.
• Ensure compliance with safety protocols and company standards.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Physical Demands:

• Lift and carry office equipment at times
• Requires sitting, walking, standing, talking and listening
• Requires close vision to small print on computer and/or tablet and paperwork
• Requires lifting (minimum of 65 pounds) and transporting of patient equipment
• Requires contact with patients and equipment with potential exposure to contagious pathogens
• Requires driving a company vehicle for deliveries
