Job summary

Gulf Coast Medical Supply in Mississippi is seeking a Delivery Driver-Patient Service Technician. The role delivers and sets up medical equipment in patients’ homes, educates users on proper operation, and ensures equipment safety and reliability.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma or GED, a valid driver's license, and the ability to pass background checks and drug screening. On-call hours may be required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Background check conducted; individualized assessment.
• Drug screen when applicable.
• Healthcare credentialing process compliance when applicable.
• Valid driver’s license with clean record when applicable.
• Medical equipment experience preferred.
• 1 year related work experience preferred.
• Medical terminology preferred.

Responsibilities

• Available for on-call assignments after hours, weekends or holidays.
• Drive local routes to deliver and set up medical equipment in patients’ homes.
• Educate patients and caregivers on safe use and maintenance of respiratory and home medical equipment.
• Maintain and troubleshoot equipment to ensure proper function and patient safety.
• Complete delivery documentation and patient visit reports on time.
• Keep assigned company vehicle clean, safe and ready for service.
• Respond to urgent equipment needs and participate in on-call rotations.
• Ensure compliance with safety protocols and company standards.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Position: Delivery Driver- Patient Service Technician

Position Summary:

• Full-time
• Regular hours plus on call hours

Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED equivalent, required
• Background check (company-wide). Results will not be used automatically to disqualify individuals. Instead, the Company will conduct an individualized assessment that considers the duties of the position, the nature and timing of the offense, and any evidence of rehabilitation, in accordance with applicable laws.
• Drug screen (when applicable for the position)
• Compliance with healthcare facility credentialing process (when applicable for the position)
• Valid driver’s license in state of residence with a clean driving record (when applicable for the position)
• Experience with medical equipment, preferred
• One year of related work experience, preferred
• Medical terminology, preferred

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

• Successfully demonstrates loading, unloading and proper tie down procedures as per company policy of transported cargo

Physical Demands:

• Lift and carry office equipment at times
• Requires sitting, walking, standing, talking and listening
• Requires close vision to small print on computer and/or tablet and paperwork
• Requires lifting (minimum of 65 pounds) and transporting of patient equipment
• Requires contact with patients and equipment with potential exposure to contagious pathogens
• Requires driving a company vehicle for deliveries
