Job summary

Carter Lumber in Chesapeake, VA is seeking a Delivery Specialist to transport orders to customers in a safe, timely manner using a company vehicle. You will support daily delivery schedules and provide friendly, professional customer service. When deliveries slow, you may assist in the Yard to help reach weekly hours.

Qualifications

• Delivery experience with building materials or large items preferred.
• Familiarity with delivery equipment is a plus.
• Ability to work as part of a team and deliver great service.

Responsibilities

• Transport orders to customers safely and on time using a company vehicle.
• Ensure daily delivery schedules are met and accurate deliveries.
• Provide friendly, professional customer service during deliveries.
• Assist in the Yard if deliveries slow to meet weekly hours goal.

Description
As one of our Delivery Specialists, you will be responsible for transporting orders to customers in a safe and timely manner using a company vehicle. You will ensure that daily delivery schedules are met while providing friendly and professional customer service. If deliveries slow down, you have the opportunity to help in the Yard to ensure you reach your weekly hours goal.

Requirements

• Previous delivery experience, preferably with building materials, furniture, appliances and other large items that need to be handled with care
• An acceptable driving record (some states require a chauffeur, class C or class D license)
• Familiarity with building materials and delivery equipment is preferred
• Ability to be a team player
• A friendly, customer-service-driven personality
