Job summary

Drexel Building Supply, Inc. is seeking a dependable Delivery Helper to join our two-person delivery team in Wisconsin.

You will help safely transport and unload cabinetry, doors, and windows to job sites, coordinate with the Delivery Specialist, and ensure proper load security and site placement. You will ride along on routes, assist with unloading, keep the truck organized, and communicate clearly with customers to meet precise delivery expectations.

Responsibilities

• Safely lift, carry, and place heavy materials from truck to job site.

• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the delivery vehicle interior.
• Deploy signs and ensure quick, safe access at sites.

The Mission

Your primary objective is to be the essential partner to the Delivery Specialist, working as a seamless two-person team to execute flawless deliveries. You are responsible for the safe transit, heavy lifting, and strategic unloading of materials—such as cabinetry, doors, and windows—directly at the job site. As a vital face of the company, your punctuality, teamwork, and communication ensure our commitment to the builder is executed safely, accurately, and professionally.

Defining the Role

• Heavy Material Handling: Safely lift, carry, and place heavy and fragile materials (including cabinetry, doors, windows, and trim) from the truck to the designated job site location. Have the physical ability to consistently and safely lift, carry, and maneuver items of 50-100 lbs.
• Ride‑Along & Route Support: Accompany the Delivery Specialist driver on all assigned routes, maintaining a professional and collaborative environment inside the truck cabin during transit.
• Load Security: Assist the driver in ensuring the load is properly strapped, blocked, and secured before leaving the yard and after every single delivery stop.
• Job Site Communication: Work with the driver to touch base with the customer upon arrival, ensuring materials are placed exactly where requested.
• Vehicle Care: Help maintain the cleanliness, organization, and interior care of the delivery vehicle cab and cargo area.
• Deployment of Signs: Ensure job site signs are easily accessible in the truck and properly deployed at delivery locations as needed.

• Attendance & Punctuality Rate: Maintaining an exceptional record of on-time arrivals for scheduled shifts.
• Safety & Material Damage Record: Achieving zero preventable lifting injuries and zero incidents of product damage during transit or unloading.
