Job Overview
The Delivery Specialist maintains and operates store vehicles to deliver parts and/or products to professional customers safely and efficiently. Responsibilities include collecting money on C.O.D. deliveries and picking up customer returns.
Essential Job Functions
- Operate company vehicles for deliveries, ensuring safety and efficiency.
- Use delivery fleet management devices to process deliveries, capture signatures, update mileage, and conduct vehicle inspections.
- Maintain cleanliness and proper functioning of vehicles, completing daily inspections.
- Secure vehicles, keys, fuel/fleet credit cards, hand-held devices, and collected monies.
- Handle customer returns and complete driver return slips.
- Communicate customer issues or needs to store management.
- Report vehicle maintenance, accidents, or damages immediately.
- Ensure fuel tanks are filled and vehicles are locked and secured at day's end.
- Adhere to company policies for clocking in/out.
- Perform additional duties such as customer service, stocking, merchandising, and errands as needed.
- Assist customers and serve as cashier when required.
Skills and Qualifications
Required:
- Ability to quickly match alphanumeric sequences.
- Strong interpersonal communication skills.
- Adaptability to changing delivery situations.
- Driving record meeting company standards (14/18-point system).
- Legally required state driver’s license and eligibility.
Desired:
- Familiarity with automotive parts.
- Ability to operate light store equipment.
- Fluency in multiple languages, especially Spanish.
